We are working with a client, a global financial institution that is looking for a Sr Tax Manager/Director with a State & Local Tax Generalist background. The candidate will be working in a dynamic tax department in the firm’s NYC/NJ Metropolitan area. Remote for the time being.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversight of the State & Local Income Tax Compliance function
• Manage SALT tax audits and respond to tax notices from state agencies
• Advise on tax implications related to new tax legislation/laws/regulations/amendments
• Partner with internal finance and outside vendors/consultants to ensure efficiency
• Supervise indirect tax compliance
• Training and supervision of staff.

To qualify, you must have a minimum of 10 years prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm or a public/private background, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, both independently and as part of a team, required. Must have exposure to a wide range of industries with experience in tax planning, consulting, research, and compliance review for our individual, corporate, and partnership clients.
