A West LA CPA firm is seeking recent graduates, Bachelors or Masters (May 2019 or 2020) to join their growing team. The successful candidate will work with a variety of Corporate, Partnership and Individual clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Corporate, Partnership, and Individual Federal and State tax returns
  • Federal Tax Research
  • Keeping current on new federal and state tax laws and other matters
  • Coordination with Client Accounting and Assurance department in meeting client needs
  • Communicating with clients, client meetings, and responding to client inquiries, IRS, and state tax notices

Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of tax experience in a public accounting
  • BS or Masters in Accounting/Tax preferred

Tax Manager

Description:

  • Responsibilities include tax planning, compliance and income tax accounting for the company and their entities.
  • Review and/or prep of federal, state and local income tax returns, including international forms, estimated income tax payments and extension filings.
  • Preparation of ASC 740 tax provision calculations and analyses; assisting with various tax projects and tax research.
  • Preparation of disclosures for the consolidated year-end and quarterly financial statements.
  • Assist Tax Team on indirect tax compliance and related matters on a global basis.

High Net Worth Tax Manager

Our client, a Public Accounting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our high net worth tax practice in NJ. This role provides an opportunity to join a high performing practice where you will use your expertise in taxation to provide compliance and consulting services to high net worth multi-generational wealthy families and their private businesses and/or investment entities, and family offices.

Candidates must be familiar tax consulting for high net worth clients and possess the analytical skills necessary for the effective diagnosis, development and implementation of solutions to the clients’ tax needs. With the support of the firm, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and pursue creative approaches to resolve client issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA License or JD required
  • 7+ years continuous public accounting or family office tax experience
  • Strong experience with high net worth clients (personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, with exposure to flow through entities and partnership taxation and corporate taxation, including State & Local income (SALT)/Franchise tax for multi-state filers)
  • Experience in the review of tax returns for wealthy family members and their trusts, investment entities, and private businesses. Businesses could include Private Equity, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Wholesale Distribution, Service, Retail and Restaurants. Exposure to business returns would be a plus, but not required

Occasionally, you will need to roll up your sleeves and assist staff complete transactional financial work.

Responsibilities:

  • Build financial models to guide the clients operational decisions.
  • Comfortably lead the ongoing accounting and client relationship and serve as the main point of contact with the client
  • Communicate findings to the client, and use financial info to advise on business action items.

  • Industry experience preferable, but not required
