Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and file the US and International Indirect Tax forms, including Sales & Use, VAT, DST and withholdings tax returns.
  • Take part in information requests from other finance teams.
  • Respond to inquiries and notices from IRS and other taxing authorities.
  • Perform, document and summarize research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues.
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting required.

Tax Partner

Our client, a New York Metro area public accounting firm is looking to bring on a Partner in their tax practice. Firm is looking for a Strong Sr Manager/Tax Director or Partner that will step into existing books of business.

Experience in the review/preparation of tax returns for individual, closely held businesses, pass thru entities, S-Corps, & LLCs. This individual will be required to maintain strong client relationships, supervise & develop staff and elevate the Tax Service Line for the firm.

  • 12+ years of relevant experience working for a Big 4, large national or regional accounting firm.
  • 5+ years of in a managerial capacity.
  • Experience with closely held businesses & their owners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Candidates must be an expert in Trust & Estate Planning, Estate, Trust & Gift Tax Compliance Services and Individual income tax and foreign reporting. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA License and/or JD required.

  • Strong experience with high net worth clients (personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, with exposure to flow through entities and partnership taxation and corporate taxation, including State & Local income (SALT)/Franchise tax for multi-state filers)
  • Experience in the review of tax returns for wealthy family members and their trusts, investment entities, and private businesses. Senior Tax Manager – SALT

We are working with a client, a global financial institution that is looking for a Sr Tax Manager/Director with a State & Local Tax Generalist background. The candidate will be working in a dynamic tax department in the firm’s NYC/NJ Metropolitan area. Remote for the time being.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of the State & Local Income Tax Compliance function
  • Manage SALT tax audits and respond to tax notices from state agencies
  • Advise on tax implications related to new tax legislation/laws/regulations/amendments
  • Partner with internal finance and outside vendors/consultants to ensure efficiency
  • Supervise indirect tax compliance
  • Training and supervision of staff.

To qualify, you must have a minimum of 10 years prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm or a public/private background, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, both independently and as part of a team, required. Must have exposure to a wide range of industries with experience in tax planning, consulting, research, and compliance review for our individual, corporate, and partnership clients.
